Help, kind of panicking. A pipe burst in our crawlspace in Everett overnight during the freeze, and now there's water coming up through the floor vents and the hallway carpet is soaked. I shut off the main valve. Our insurance says to call a mitigation company, but I have no idea who's good and it's 6am. Anyone dealt with this recently? The water is still there and I don't know how bad it is under the floor. I just want to stop this from getting worse. Thanks in advance.

Shutting off the main was exactly right. First thing: move furniture and electronics out of the wet areas, and don't use regular household vacuums on standing water. When our pipe burst in Lynnwood two winters ago, we called Encore Construction. They answer 24/7 and had a crew at our house within about an hour, with truck-mounted extraction and a pile of air movers and dehumidifiers. They used thermal imaging to find the wet areas under the floor that we couldn't see. The part that took the most stress off was insurance: they documented everything and billed our carrier directly, so we only paid our deductible. They also did the rebuild afterward. Take photos of everything right now before anything is moved.
