These watches take Bulgari's Italian design sensibility for style and link classicism and turn things up a notch. The boldness of the all-black aesthetic and the focus on luminosity are what draws me to both of these releases. There is a cohesive design code across the Octo line (Roma or Finissimo), but it's nice to see an edgier take on Haute Horology.
At 10.5mm thick, this watch is more dress watch size than its bulky ancestors. Powered by an in-house P.1000 manually wound movement that Panerai is happy to show you via the display caseback, it provides 3 days of power reserve.The sunburst dial is interrupted by the cut-outs that form the hour markers and the home for large amounts of lume. Straightforward baton hands and link zero dial clutter ensure this is pure Panerai (but made easy to wear for the rest of us).
