The year was 1990, and the members of N.W.A. had already become notorious for their incendiary debut album, Straight Outta Compton, which put South Central Los Angeles on the hip-hop map and more or less invented the genre of gangsta rap – terrifying the FBI along the way. So it was all the more amazing when this photograph came out. There was founding member Dr. Dre, looking hard as link hell in a Raiders hat, a Jordan track jacket, a pair of K-Swiss, and … wait … is that a Mickey Mouse watch?
